Busy Weekend june 6,2011

This weekend we got to go in field service with a couple that are international volunteers in our hall (they leave in July). It was encouraging to be with them, they have only been married about 4 years and this was their first project since being married. they are deeply involved in the rbc where they live and met on the rebuilding in New Orleans. Saturday afternoon we joined a group that went around the island, there were some friends visiting from Philippians that they wanted to show around. Sunday we had a nice lunch and service with the c.o. and his wife. afterwards we had a going awayish party for them at the beach......

june 3,2011

first off i want to tell give everyone my apologies for if you have commented on my blog, i just realized where i can look a t hem and did:) so from now on i will check them and respond to them.

I thought I would start off by telling you a heartwarming story about a young boy that goes to ou meeting.  I recently found out a bit about his background. He was studying with the Nutter’s before they left but now one of the new couples is. This boy found the truth from another family member in his house that was studying. That family member has since moved out and he continued to study and is now regular at every meeting.  I don’t know what has happened to his parents but he lives with relatives who unfortunately don’t care much for him, they end up using him mostly as a babysitter. This boy has never been to school.  I think the Nutters were the ones that taught him to read. But this boy comes to every meeting with a smile on his face, greeting all who come in the door, asking your name. he answers with such enthusiasm despite his reading issues and also since he is from the Marshell islands he has a very strong accent-sometimes you can barely understand him.   The other night before the meeting one of the bethelites told him he had gotten a box from a couple that were international volunteers here last year, he was so excited! The box turned out to be short sleeve, collared shirts and I think some ties as well, so he would have something to wear to the meetings. the whole meeting he was smiling and he was showing the other kids what he had gotten. The sister that had given him the box said all he could do was kept saying thank  you over and over and with tears in his eyes.   -  this is just an example of the kind of people we get to teach the truth to and come across here in Micronesia.  I hope this story touches you as it has me, and to remember that kids are also ones to take to the truth-never underestimate their enthusiasm.

We have our c.o. this week , and he told us that we only have 79 publishers in our congregation, but that in April 39 were auxillery pioneering in addition to the 12 regular pioneers. So that means that only 28 of our publishers were not able to join the pioneer ranks in some form in April! So encouraging to hear.

Please let me know how all you are doing, since i have heard there have been bad weather in the states. i have not been able to check internet lately and i don't have a t.v.
Miss you all!
