sine things have been so crazy with our house project we had postponed our first flying trip till this week. it was actually more like a, "hey you think now would be an o.k. time, lets ask grandparents-o.k. we are leaving tomorrow!"
so we left wednesday morning at 5 a.m. and drove north. poor Josh has never had to be the one driving on a road trip and so he was not used to long long stretches without cruise control. but he has been a trooper and is o.k. now with the long drives. we made it to my mom's parents house at 7:45 p.m. that night. on thursday we spent some time with my grandparents getting to catch up with them. i also got to see carley (those of you from guam might remember her when she visited me the first year i was there). we got to see her house, which they had a similar situation with remodeling it, but they have been married 2 years so it looks lived in now. carley and her husband tyler invited us to the midnight showing or the avengers and hoped we would come. which we did picture to follow in next post.
Friday we awoke a few hours after coming home from the movie and had a lovely breakfast with my grandparents before we were both headed out. they were headed down to a town called Paintsville in Kentucky where the tornadoes had hit. many of the friends needed help with damaged or destroyed homes. a few from my grandparents hall went the weekend before (including carley and tyler) and more were going this weekend with my grandparents.
after breakfast we then drove south toward my other grandparents that live in Scottsville Kentucky. we ended up having to take a half highway half back road route to get there since everyone and their mother was going the normal route to the Kentucky derby that was today. but it was so pretty and relaxing on that route and it was nice for josh to see since i told him it reminded me of parts of New Hampshire. we arrived about 4 hours later and got to see my grandparents and my aunt and uncle. it was so nice to catch up with them over grammy's homemade pizza which i haven't had in a long time.
this morning they all had their one day assembly so since we had already been in Guam we decided to take a relaxing day to ourselves. it was nice to sleep in and take josh into Bowling green just to see some sights. i also took him to the amish area near their house to get some good homemade jelly and see some more lovely scenery. we await their return adn a a wonderful family dinner.
tomarrow the plan is to spend time with them all and then monday morning to head home. i will post pictures and the events of the rest of the trip when we get back.
i do have a question for all my followers and fellow blogers-any suggestions for lay out and design of my page? i have no idea what i'm doing adn haf the time i do change it i get a comment from my mom that it's too complicated.let me know.
